J.W. and Kayla Hall met at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where they both attended college. J.W. played football and Kayla was a cheerleader at the time they met and had wondered how they had never been introduced before because they had some of the same friends. In November of 2009, JW asked Kayla to marry him and they were later married in June of 2010. After only being married for a month, the couple knew that it was God’s will for them to move to the Kansas City area for a job offer. With degrees in church ministry, it took only two visits to Village West Family Church for the couple to know that God desired to use them. Through a course of events, God opened the door of opportunity to minister in the area of youth.
Both of their experiences with God started as children being raised in Christian homes. J.W.’s relationship with God began at the very young age of four, while Kayla’s true knowledge of Christ began at the age of twelve. She says, “I always knew who Jesus was, but I never truly knew him until then.” Both J.W. and Kayla knew that God had called them to SAGU for a purpose even though they never truly knew what He was calling them to do after. Now they know.
The couple joined the Village West family as Youth Pastors in October, 2010. Renov8 Youth is a brand new ministry and the Halls are excited about the building and growing this exciting ministry and watching God change and renew the lives of teens in the Kansas City Metro area.
